Hopefully this is an interesting look at the soundchecking for a show, it has most of the boring stuff edited out. I edited out all the general conversation about how hot the band was, etc. Also omitted is my wife having a long conversation with one of her friends on how to operate the defective new VHS-C camcorder her friend bought the day before in the Times Square area. Footage of Jon's wife deleted on the expressed wishes of the band.

David sings great on the "You Give Love A Bad Name" runthrough without Jon, he could easily sing lead on this. The bearded gentleman who hands Richie his guitar is the venerable "Lumpy", Track 13 is a kick ass little jam though very short. Unlike the olden days, it seems that David runs the soundcheck/rehearsal.

I have no idea what is up with track 17, but it was funny. Jon shows up during track 18 but doesn't sing. Jon has monitor problems with his in ear and sings half of "It's My Life" with his arms crossed across his chest, a very unrockstar pose :) The band is cued to start "It's My Life" for broadcast but the director screwed up and they weren't on the air so they try it again in a few minutes.

This is another of the many transfers that Don Hatchett volunteered to transfer for me, he deserves every bit of the thanks for seeing these shows surface. Without him they would still be a part of the giant VHS wall of Bon Jovi.
